Rotorua - November 14th

Roto-Vegas, as it is known, was mostly just a stop over for me to get to Taupo. I had heard mixed reviews about how much fun it actually was. The one constant comment was how it stunk...smell wise I mean. The reason for this smell is a bevy of thermal activity in the area causing the smell of sulphur to permeate the city. This means there is always a thin layer of rotten egg smell lingering in the air. It wasn't as bad as I expected, but I found the city kind of boring. Once you've seen one hot spring you've seen them all. To be fair I didn't try a lot of the adventure activities which Rotorua had to offer because we planned on doing most of that in Queenstown. Mostly I just relaxed and prepared myself for the trip on to Taupo
