Dunedin - November 24 & 25

Dunedin is a University town which is build around "The Octagon", which of course led to Napoleon Dynamite/Rex Kwan-Do jokes. When we first got into town we stopped off at our sketchy backpackers "Next Stop Backapers". It seemed that everyone made the first stop except us, as the building was empty. John, the owner was a nice guy though and gave up his parking spot for us...too bad it was on a massive hill. That night, too scared to do anything else we went to see Borat and then to sleep. hoping to not walk up in the middle of the night with strange men creeping into our bedroom.

The next day we headed to the Speight's brewery where we took an awesome tour which included all you can drink for 30 minutes. We were allowed to pour our own and ended up with a system of walking around the bar in a circle and constantly refilling our glass...it looked a bit like musical chairs except that we never stopped. After drinking about 8 glasses worth of beer we went to the Cadbury factory for another tour. Apparently chocolate wasn't being made that day, but when this happens they just give out more free chocolate to make up for it...It was like Halloween to the power of 5. We left with alcohol/sugar headaches and decided to head up the coast to LAnarch Castle and stop at the beach along the way

We tried to surf but the sketchy guy who rents boards out of the back of his van didn't show. Lanarch Castle was pretty cool but the view from the grounds was unreal. It's located high on a hill above the South Pacific.

After this we went to the World's Steepest Street. The pictures say it all.

Don't forget the E-break
