And done....
All good things must come to an end..take the BLT I had today at the San Francisco airport, or Colin Farell's wicked stache in Miami Vice. But today I am mourning the end of my trip to New Zealand. After spending the past 31 hours in an airport or on a plane I am finally back home. As usual Chicago tried to screw me over by dumping snow but Denver accepted me with open arms and sent me on my way.
I'm pretty happy to be home but pretty bummed the trip is over. Three weeks was a great amount of time to wet your appetite for more. I guess I should update where I last left off. The cruis of Milford Sound was a breathtaking sight (yeah I said...breathtaking). The bus ride there took us 3000m up to ground covered in snow and then dropped us back down to sea level where we cruised through the fiords. We had pretty much perfect weather which I understand happens once ever never, so it was a lucky day for us. Kilmer significantly brought down the cool factor of the group by hooking his camera up to a tripod, and was subsequently karate chopped in the arm by a Japanese tourist who was maybe 3 feet tall in heels....From now on he is being referred to as K-Pod.
We headed back into Queenstown for our last hurrah where we met up with Matt the Texan (a.k.a. Cat Butt) for one last night of drinks and....well just drinks I guess. It was good to see him again before we left because we had heard rumours that he was off on a four day hike and would not be back.
Christchurch was pretty much a write off. As bad as it sounds I think we had all settled on the fact that the trip was ending and it made the last two days a little lazy. We did manage to get out and see Little Miss Sunshine which was a hilarious movie...on par with Borat in all our minds.
Anyways, I'm going to really update this thing with pictures once I get that all straightened out. I'm off to try and get some sleep and prepare myself for something called Monday.
